Youth Groups
Fledglings
The Fledglings group is for children of the parish attending any school from years Reception to Year 6 (4 – 11 years old). The group meet to play games, for activities, and to learn about their faith along with a team of experienced and DBS-checked leaders. As Covid restrictions are easing, we have been meeting on Saturdays face-to face after a very long time of Zoom meetings. Youth Day 2021…
Both groups are now meeting regularly face-to-face with appropriate activities, including a very successful joint Youth Day at a campsite in East Malling. We managed to build fires using fire-steels, cook our lunch in the fire and toast marshmallows, play football, rounders and others and use the zip-wire. Of course, there was the obligatory water fight! On the occasion of Fr Liam’s Anniversary of Priesthood recently, the groups produced a card with a number of pages showing their idea of Fr Liam.
Flame Youth
Our parish youth group is for young people from any school who are aged 11-18 years old (split into 2 sections) to learn more about and discuss their faith, have fun, socialise and take on roles within the parish community. In line with the gradual easing of restrictions, we have been meeting face-to-face after a very long time of weekly Zoom meetings.
