Sharing the Faith

As is evident every Sunday at church,  we continue to grow as a Parish family with ever increasing numbers and it is a joy to see. Thank you for your faithfulness and commitment.

With a growing number of people comes a growing number of requests for Catechism and learning our faith in our parish, for the Sacrament of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation at all ages. We have an excellent team of people who already carry this out but we would like to make an invitation for anybody who would like to help in the sharing of the faith with all being prepared. This does not mean you have to be experienced or qualified at teaching although that is always welcome too. It takes a commitment to the group, a dedication to the faith, getting on well with people and a joy in sharing their friendship in Christ. We wish to provide an opportunity for people to serve the parish and its people in this way.

The plan is that enough people come forward so that we could have a team that can support one another. It will of course mean a regular commitment although with a team we are always able to cover one another if the need arises. If you are a married couple who could share the joy of raising their children in the faith to other parents at our Baptism meeting for maybe two evenings a year then please let us know. Are you a parent whose children have journeyed through First communion and know this is something you can commit to helping? Is mid-teens more your calling with our Confirmation group who meet for twelve Sunday evenings a year? What about our RCIA – Adults at all various stages in their journey of faith who are just looking for someone to share the joy of their faith?

If this is something you think you could be part of then please speak to one of the clergy after Mass. We promise to meet with you and give you the full support and guidance that you need.
