Candlemas – Wednesday 2nd February

Wednesday 2nd February will be 40 days since Christmas Day, and so we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord or Candlemas.

At the beginning of the 10.30am Mass there shall be a blessing and lighting of individual candles, as we call to mind the proclamation of Simeon in the Gospel that day; Jesus is the light of the world’.
